Join University of Illinois Extension educators as they team up with area farmers to provide four monthly evening meetings to highlight and demonstrate diverse farming enterprises across southern Illinois. The series will provide participants an opportunity to experience different types of production and marketing practices utilized by southern Illinois producers.
The meetings are scheduled monthly on Monday evenings, May through August, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates at the locations listed below.
May 13, 2024 - Legacy Meats LLC, Sumner, IL - high quality cattle and hog production, custom processing
June 17, 2024 - McLane Farms, Ware, IL - large-mouth bass fish farm, diverse row crops, including rice
July 15, 2024 - Blessed Blooms, Fairfield, IL - cut flower farm and farm market
August 19, 2024 - Sunnybrook Gardens, Carmi, IL - intensive vegetable production, processing and freezing of sweet corn and peaches, specialty equipment
