Do you enjoy learning about nature? Do you enjoy being out in nature? Bring your family and friends to the Natural Resources Education Center (NREC) in Russell Woods Forest Preserve for free nature-related educational and recreational activities!  Extension Educator Peggy (Doty) Anesi will lead activities with other staff members and volunteers. There will be a bird viewing window, a family hike, presentations about migratory cranes in northern Illinois, crafts, face painting, an outdoor scavenger hunt, and a live bird program by Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center.

The Genoa Prairie Gems 4-H Club will sell lunch to support their club. There is no fee for the day, though donations will be graciously accepted to cover materials provided by the NREC.

Choose to stay all day or pick and choose your activities. We look forward to seeing you!
