Teachers and school professionals can integrate healthy, restorative practices into their weekly routines by starting the day with a led, morning meditation. Attend a free, 15-minute online yoga practice each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the 6-week Pyana Vayus series, which begins May 3, 2021.

Register once, and attend any sessions throughout the 6-week series.

It provides me with a way to root my thoughts and calm my body before my day begins. Teaching through this pandemic has been stressful, but the meditation series guarantees that I take time for ME three mornings per week. ~ Meditation Mornings Participant

Meditation Mornings is a recurring 6-week series for school staff led by Michele Crawford, Extension community health educator. Series topics also include Restoration, Chakras, and Five Elements, among others. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this programming, please contact program coordinator, James McCombs, at jmccomb2@illinois.edu.

Prana Vayus Series

In the yoga tradition, prana is life force energy naturally found in all living things. The vayus work together harmoniously to support optimal health of mind and body. Through a balanced system of vital energy, develop the self-discipline and courage to become a positive force in our world, ultimately realizing our greatest potential. Through the practice of meditation and breathing techniques, unpack the unique gifts of each vayu individually, and learn how to integrate their essential qualities into daily life.
