Free online informational session March 23

How often have you seen it rain in your neighborhood and a few blocks away not a drop has fallen? Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network (known as CoCoRaHS)* is a grassroots effort of citizens measuring precipitation right in their own backyards.

It's easy to join, takes only five minutes a day, and is a fun way to learn about weather. These volunteers' observations provide helpful data that is available to everyone online. The information continues to give scientists, farmers, neighbors, and others, an ever clearer picture of where and how much precipitation falls throughout our communities.

Want to learn more? Join University of Illinois Extension of DuPage, Kane, and Kendall Counties and CoCoRaHS for a FREE informational session on Tuesday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. This role is open to any age adults or to families who are interested in participating. If you choose to join the CoCoRaHS Network, a standardized rain gauge is required and can be purchased for $35.

The informational session is free, but registration required to receive secure webinar information. Registration closes March 21, 2021. For questions, please contact Illinois Extension Program Coordinator Sarah Fellerer at fellerer@illinois.edu or 630-553-5823.

If you will need a reasonable accommodation in order to participate, please contact above or notify at registration. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet your access needs.
