This course is only for K-12 school foodservice professionals.
In Illinois, a Certified Food Protection Manager must be on-site any time food is being prepared and served. University of Illinois Extension in Macon County is offering the Certified Protection Manager course and exam, which covers the minimum classroom work to prepare for the national certification exam.
Businesses serving food in Illinois must have staff trained as Certified Food Protection Managers. The two-day course will cover the federal food code, including topics of safe food handling, proper cooking temperatures, employee hygiene, and facility safety, and prepare students to take a national exam on the second day of class.
