Junior Master Naturalist 4-H SPIN Club

Come join us as we explore the magical world of butterflies

Does your child enjoy the outdoors and learning about the natural world? Then the Junior Master Naturalist program is the perfect way for your 9 – 12 year old to explore and discover the wonders of nature.
University of Illinois Extension Junior Master Naturalist program provides science-based educational opportunities that connect kids with nature and helps them become engaged environmental stewards.  This Special Interest (SPIN) 4-H club will inspire members to gain a sense of belonging with hands-on exploration through nature.
After enrolling, your child will get to:
  • Observe how a butterfly's world changes with the seasons.
  • Experience a butterfly's complete life cycle
  • Learn how to identify, collect, raise, and identify a variety of butterfly species
  • Grow into a Junior Citizen Scientist 
This 6 -session club will meet at various locations around Ogle County on Tuesdays from 4:30 - 6 p.m. from August 8 through September 12. 
Your first session will be at the Ogle County Extension Office at 421 W. Pines Rd., Oregon.
